Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5 1956 in Woodland Hills California the youngest and only child of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her father was a teacher and her mom was a domestic worker. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three elder brothers. McCormick was a gifted artist and singer from a young age. When she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 year old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see whether McCormick was interested in getting into the world of entertainment. McCormick got her first big role when she got a part in the commercial for television that was broadcast in 1964 of Mattels newest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. Later that year she did another commercial for Mattels Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play The Wind It Up And It Breaks at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was chosen from a field of 1200 children who auditioned to play the eldest of three towheaded daughters in the upcoming TV comedy The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with an unintended family. The series lasted 5 years. McCormick in her memoir Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice Published in 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the fifth season of the television show she almost lost the love of her life to her twin brother Barry Williams. In 2008, she revealed in her book Here's the Truth: surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice that in season five on the show, she was close to losing her virginity to Barry Williams. The two of us could have been in a relationship, said she. The timing, however, wasn't just right.
